How To Practise Mind Power, A Discussion

The first thing we need to get out of the way is that your mind is like a magnet. Whatever it thinks, or even sees it will eventually attract. Most of you know this as the Law of Attraction. It's where you let the mind believe that something is going to happen (whether positive or negative) and then it does. However, it's one of the best ways to get everything you want out of life. If you can think it, feel it and envision it first, then it will be so. Just keep in mind it takes a little practice.

Mind power is something each of us has. Most of us lack the centralized realization that that power is under our own control. Researchers have shown that we only use about 10% of our brain's capabilities for conscious thought, and that applies to our intellectual capabilities as well. We go for the simplest things possible because they require the least overall effort. When we fail at something, rather than learning from it, we let it act as a negative magnet, pulling further ill will and misfortune upon us. The things that we think happen to us because we let them.

In reality, you have more control over your life with your mind than you think. Whatever you've accomplished this far has been the result of your mind power, your willingness to work, and your positive attitude; even good fortune comes to you because of your mind power. If you want something better out of life, you just have to visualize it…and this works in reverse, too. People who expect the worst, get the worst.

Many things can be used to boost the effectiveness of your mind power. These range from goal setting to affirmations to visualization techniques. Even hypnotherapy can do it. We'll cover each of these techniques below.

Visualization is done by sitting quietly and using your mind to imagine all of the things you would like to have in your world. Let your mind create picture images of those things. Anyone can use the visualization technique to bring these desires into their subconscious mind. The subconscious mind will then bring them into the world. Hold positive images in your mind and you will have positive results; hold negative images and you will have negative results. Plan ahead what you want to do before you begin your visualization practice.

Another way to build up visualizations and positive mental images is to write a narration to yourself, like a story. Open up a piece of paper and write down the goals you want to achieve, and focus on them. Work backwards from the goal to what needs to happen immediately before accomplishing it. Create your visions out of those steps. Writing things down also imprints it, and makes it harder to forget.

Affirmations are another technique that you can use to boost your mind power, by giving yourself a positive self image boost. President Obama got into office with the simple affirmation of Yes We Can, and that same attitude can help you accomplish other goals. Do things like affirming that you're going meet specific targets in a given month, whether they're goals for saving money or losing weight – something that's definite and measurable, and keep affirming that potential in your mind. Do this often enough and it'll become a habit, and good things will follow.

Another way to develop more mind power is by using brainwave entrainment. This involves the synchronization of brainwaves and uses dissimilar frequencies by audio technology. Our brains can do several things at once quite naturally. It has the power to heal itself, for example. Using advanced audio technology this can create enhanced ability to do so. It also can improve memory and awaken our natural psychic powers. Mind power can be greatly enhanced through the use of these different frequencies. This is an advanced method of expanding mind power but it brings amazing results.

Last but certainly not least we want to cover hypnosis. Probably the most common subject amongst individuals taking on hypnosis is people who want to quit smoking. When everything else fails they turn to something they sometimes don't believe in, but hope it works. However, the session will make them relax and listen to someone give them positive thoughts over and over again. Eventually they start believing in themselves because someone else is telling them to start doing it. The difference in this case is that they can't defend themselves when they're hypnotized.

As can be seen, everyone has mind power. It's a matter of belief in what one can do, with their own abilities and positive affirmations. You can use this ability to change your circumstances and rewrite your future to one you want to see happen. It won't happen over night, and it takes some repetition to make it all work, but the effort pays off in the end.
